Surviving Halloween treats
So, we’ve all heard the standard ways to avoid over doing it on the sweets for Halloween: Buy candy you don’t like, by the candy the day of Halloween and not a moment earlier. But honesty, I tell myself that every year and every year I just cant bring myself to purchasing sweets that I don’t like and when I think of Halloween, I just can’t help but start the celebration a few days early. I really didn’t do that bad: I bought the candy on Thursday and between then and now, I’ve probably had maybe ten pieces. For those of you who are really good about your diet, your saying “Ten pieces of candy is a success?” And my answer is yes! I absolutely love candy and for a 48 hour period before a holiday I love—I think I did pretty good. And yes, I’ll probably have a few more pieces before the day is over but here’s what else I will do: A. Have a 40 minute workout B. Prepare a healthy dinner C. Make sure before I go to bed, all the Halloween candy in our house is either given away or thrown away.
I really enjoy Halloween and all it’s festivities…..and that means having a few treats. So, Im ok with a day here and there were I eat something tasty. Heck, if that’s my only vice Im doing just fine.
Met my goal this week
Training for my 10k run/walk is going well. Although I can honestly say that running is just not my thing
My quads are so so so so so sore! But my goal was to run 6 miles this week—-and I did it. So I feel good about it. Now, I did my running on top of my normal exercise routine which usually involves a step workout or two and some body sculpting. Next weeks goal is to run 7 miles total. Im not trying to make my runs long at this point, Im just trying to get the mileage in so my body can start to adapt to the new form of exercise.
1:00am workout
Today I was so busy all day with appointments and such and i was frustrated cuz I didn’t get any time to workout and for me..missing one day gives me permission to maybe miss one more, but I turned it around and just finished my workout now at 1am lol, so even if you dont plan it you can still have a good workout. this is the first time I have done simple step from beginning to end, even the stretching at the end. I feel so good and wide awake right now..darned endorphins lol
Im so excited!
I just previewed some videos and they’re exactly what i have been searching for, several videos with different lengths and different difficulty levels, its been a while for me. And I hate to say it but it somehow seems a bit easier knowing that the person on the video is a normal sized woman, rather than one who looks like theyv’e never seen a carb before. complex carbs..my weakness.
