Recovering From a Torn Ligament with Piloga

by Joseph Blatt, under Health and fitness

I tore a ligament some time ago, and I haven’t been able to work out very much since then. My leg often hurts, and it seems like I just cant get it stretched out enough. I’ve always been an athletic sort of guy, so I knew I needed to find something that would work for me. The thought of giving up working out…it wasn’t something I could handle.

The other day, I joined workoutsondemand and for the first time, tried Piloga. So far, the combination between yoga and pilates has seemed to work for me and my leg feels better than it has in quite awhile.

Of course, I did some moderate stretching before and after the workout, and thankfully, the workout itself got my heart rate up enough that I felt like I was actually getting a workout!!!! My doctor says I can do light workouts for now, and as my leg heals, I can add intensity. Looks like workoutsondemand offers a bunch of different videos with all different types of intensities. I will have to try them out when my leg is fully healed.

So here’s for hoping for a quick recovery so I can get back on track!

new here…trying it out

by georgia jackson, under Uncategorized

i’m new here, my name is Georgia. i’m a heavy girl, about 170 (on a good day, lol.) I’m not very tall, so my weight isn’t evened out really. I’m tired of not fitting into my clothes right, and just looking chunky overall. so i’m hoping these workout videos will be just the ticket…funny that i’m starting a diet and workout combo right before Thanksgiving and Christmas, right?

So i know I didn’t want to do a hard workout for my first time. how many people here have worked out hard a few times and given up because it was so tough? I’ve done that before to many times!!!! So I tried Piloga #1. I’m still feeling the burn! I really liked the mix between Pilates and yoga, and it wasn’t to hard a workout for my first time.

I’m also trying a low carb diet too, and trying to stay away from the sugars. That’s definitely going to be hard coming up on the holidays! we’ll see if i can hold out, but I might let myself splurge a little bit if I keep doing my workouts every day like I want to.

i wish everyone here the best of luck. Working out and losing weight is tough!!!!! LOL.

A personal best

by marylynn, under Uncategorized

It may not be a marathon, it may not even be a half marathon, but none the less I am proud.  After completing the Beg. Kickboxing (which I love) I walked 5 miles!  Ok, so Im a bit tired and a little sore but it is all worth it!  I really feel like this time is different. I really feel like this time I will make permanent changes.  And here is what is funny, because I’m doing so well with the exercise I have been naturally choosing healthier foods without even thinking about it.  I haven’t lost any weight yet but I just feel so much better and so much happier.  I know I need to add some weights into this plan somehow, I think I’ll worry about that next week and just continue doing the good stuff I’m doing now.

Ladies, my advise to you:  Find a friend and start moving now.  It will make you feel like a million bucks!

todays diet

by terry schaffer, under Diet and Nutrition, Uncategorized

I have made a deal to eat small low-fat meals throughout the day and hope it helps, if something doesnt work try something else i guess. for tonights supper I made an egg white omlette and it was totally good, I put lots of red bell peppers, onions nad mushrooms so it would seem like more than it was,and it worked I tried to do it without the olive oil in my non-stick pan but guess what…so needless to say I had to use a teaspoon of olive oil which adds like 7 grams of fat, but the eggwhites only have 2 grams instead of the regular 10 that two normal extra large eggs have. Also I wanted to share a product I found, I absolutely cannot stand artificial sweeteners, so I didnt have much hope that I would like the fat free yogurt sweetened with splenda but it was so good, no aftertaste, and get this, 30 cals and NO fat for a 100 grams, thats like the same amount a serving of carrots gives u, I wouldnt but if i did eat the whole large container it would still be no fat and 198 cal! I know alot of people like the sugar free jello with aspartame but I hate them and still like this.
